Within the BASF Blending Automation System project, central control of tank farms, filling lines, production machines and utilities was established. Using Siemens PLCs, WinCC SCADA and a Profibus communication infrastructure, process monitoring, alarm management, data logging and remote control functions were integrated. Modern automation solutions increased production efficiency, operational safety and process continuity.
