Big-bag discharging machines are industrial systems that empty powder and granular products from FIBC (big-bag) sacks in a controlled, safe and dust-free way and transfer them into the process. They provide high efficiency and occupational safety in applications where feeding raw materials to the production line manually would be difficult and risky.
During discharging, the big-bag is attached to the machine's support frame with lifting hooks. The bottom spout of the bag is opened in a controlled way and the material is directed to a hopper, screw conveyor, belt conveyor or pneumatic conveying line. Flow control can be adjusted to the product properties to ensure uninterrupted feeding.
Operating Principle
The big-bag is placed in the discharging station with a hoist or forklift and attached to the lifting hooks. After the bag spout is fixed to the discharge unit, the system is started. The material is discharged in a controlled way by gravity or with the help of auxiliary equipment. For products with poor flow properties, vibrating tables, massage paddles or air-assisted flow aids can be used.
Automation and Control
Big-bag discharging machines can be PLC-controlled and monitored via an operator panel or SCADA system. The system can control:
• Discharge times
• Feed rate and flow control
• Safety and interlock functions
• Level and fill monitoring
• Alarm and fault notifications
Advantages
• Dust-free, environmentally friendly discharging
• Improved operator safety
• Flexible solutions for flow problems
• Compatibility with different big-bag sizes and types
• Easy integration into processes
Applications
Big-bag discharging machines are widely used in industries such as cement, mining, chemicals, plastics, food and building materials, in all applications that require raw material feeding or transfer from storage to process.
