Tin Can Filling Machines

Tin can filling machines are industrial filling systems that fill liquid or semi-viscous products into tin cans at set volumes or weights quickly, safely and with high precision. They are widely used in the chemicals, paints, food, oils, solvents and similar industries.
Depending on the product and process, filling is based on volume (litres), weight (kg) or flow (flow meter). Measurements are monitored throughout filling and filling stops automatically when the target is reached. In applications that require precise filling, two-stage filling (fast/slow) and pre-cut algorithms keep overfills and deviations to a minimum.

Operating Principle

An empty can is placed in the filling station manually or by a conveyor system. When filling starts, the liquid is transferred into the can by the pump and valve group. As the target approaches, the system automatically switches to slow filling and completes the fill at the required net quantity. After filling, the cans can be sent to capping, leak testing and labeling stations.

Automation and Control

Tin can filling machines are PLC-controlled and managed via an operator panel or SCADA system. Through the system you can easily monitor and adjust:
• Target fill quantities
• Fast / slow filling settings
• Pump and valve control
• Tolerance, alarm and safety settings
• Production and filling reports

Filling Technologies

Depending on the application and product properties, the following can be used:
• Flow meter controlled filling
• Weight (load cell) controlled filling
• Piston filling systems
• Time-controlled filling
The systems handle a wide range of products, from low-viscosity liquids to high-viscosity products.

Advantages

• High filling accuracy and repeatability
• Reduced overfills and product losses
• Compatibility with different can sizes and types
• Hygienic, safe operation
• Manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic options

Applications

Tin can filling machines are used reliably in the paints, chemicals, oils, food, solvents and similar industries, in all production plants that fill products into tin cans.
