Dosing belt scales are automation systems that feed raw materials into production processes continuously, precisely and in the required quantity. They are widely used to provide a controlled material flow to mills, mixers, kilns, reactors, screens and similar equipment.
A dosing belt scale consists of a load cell that measures the weight of the material on the belt, an encoder that measures the belt speed, and a variable-speed belt drive motor. The PLC processes the belt speed and instantaneous weight to calculate the flow rate (kg/h or t/h). The actual flow rate is compared with the target set by the operator, and a PID control algorithm automatically adjusts the belt speed to achieve the required feeding accuracy.
Automation and Control
Dosing belt scales are PLC-controlled and monitored via an operator panel or SCADA system. Through the system you can easily handle:
• Target flow rate settings
• Instantaneous and totalized feed tracking
• Calibration
• Alarm and fault monitoring
• Reporting and data logging
Main Features
• High-precision, continuous dosing
• Automatic and manual operating modes
• Automatic weight calibration
• Taring while the system is running
• Control panel with a high protection rating
• Emergency stop buttons on the belt and the panel
• Limit and position sensors against belt misalignment
Advantages
• Stable, repeatable feeding
• Higher process efficiency
• Less operator intervention
• Improved product quality
• Easy maintenance and long service life
Dosing belt scales are used reliably in many industries such as cement, mining, food, chemicals, energy and building materials.
